If you find yourself sitting around with your children/spouse/crazy aunt Susan asking “What are we going to do this weekend?”, have no fear- CRG is here to help you have an awesome derby-filled weekend!
The fun starts on Thursday night when we head over to the Raleigh Grande to watch Hell On Wheels, a documentary about the revival of modern roller derby. The movie starts at 9:30pm and we are all so excited to learn about the roots of our favorite sport- come join us!
Of course the main event takes place on Saturday as your CRG Bootleggers take on the Richland County Regulators from South Carolina and the All-Stars play the Philly Roller Girls in our 4th annual charity bout to benefit the Interfaith Food Shuttle. Doors open at 5:30pm and everyone who brings canned goods to donate to Interfaith gets a free bout poster while supplies last. Get your tickets here.
And if a roller derby double header that raises money to fight hunger in our community isnt enough, the Helping Hands Rescue Mission Marching Band will perform and Santa Claus will pay a visit!
Oh yes, and one more thing- NEW MERCH! CRG is proud to introduce the new merch items that will be sprucing up our table on Saturday:
You will also see the brand new (so new we don’t even have pics yet) CRG calendars! These 11×17 color posters feature some of your favorite rollergirls and list our 2011 dates so you will never miss a CRG bout again! Keep an eye out for all three designs! And extra special derby love to Brian Murray at McKinney in Durham and our official CRG photographer Joshua Craig for making the 2011 calendars possible.

Finally, if you still have energy left on Sunday then you might be rollergirl material! Come out to the Skate Ranch from 11:30am- 2pm for the rescheduled derby boot camp. Refresh your memory on the schedule and requirements here. Take it easy at the after party on Saturday night so you can be at the Ranch geared up and ready to go at 11:30am!
