Have you heard the latest buzz around the Carolina Rollergirls hive? Not only did we win the Dust Devil Tournament and extinguish the San Diego Wildfires after surviving a tornado, now the one and only Holly Wanna Crackya is on the Bee Ball Royal Court for The Beehive Collective!
The Beehive Collective is a group comprised mostly of local Raleigh women who work together to raise significant amounts of money for causes they care about based on a selected theme. Their mission, quite simply, is to “pollinate community giving in Raleigh and inspire new women leaders.” In the past three years, The Beehive Collective has donated over $55,000 to local charities including Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, Catholic Charities, Wake / Raleigh Partnership to End and Prevent Homelessness, Community Success Initiative, and Passage Home. Past themes have been food and economic security and financial literacy.
This will be the second year in a row there has been a Carolina Rollergirl on the Royal Court; last year’s contender and winner was Elka Meano. Let’s make this a two year run and get Holly on that throne.
But what does it take to get Holly in the winner’s seat, you ask? Well my friends you have to vote; each vote costs $1 and the proceeds go to one of the amazing causes The Beehive Collective has selected to support.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Go here: http://thebeehivecollective.org/events/bee-ball
- Scroll down to Holly (fourth court member and wielding a mighty fork)
- Add Holly to your cart
- Complete the transaction
It’s really quite simple.
Of course you’ll want to attend the Bee Ball so see can the Royal Court in action. The event is on May 7th at The Berkley Café and will be featuring The Countdown Quartet and DJ Epic Fail. Doors open at 8pm, the band starts at 9pm and the DJ dance party begins at midnight. Tickets are $10 each (a steal if you ask me) and can bee purchased on the website. All proceeds help fund the good The Beehive Collective does throughout the year.
Wear your finest and be prepared to dance and partake in the festivities. And maybe Holly will hula hoop for you.
