Carolina Roller Derby wants to take a moment to acknowledge that we are gathered here today on stolen traditional land of native indigenous peoples. The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, Skaruhreh/Tuscarora Nation, and Catawba Indian Nation were forcibly removed from their ancestral lands that is now Apex, NC. As an organization that has benefitted from the forced removal of Indigenous Peoples, we commit to continuously educating ourselves on inclusive practices and elevating the voices of our Indigenous community members, on and off the track.
