It was 94 degrees outside on Saturday when our 3pm opener bout began. That means it was about 200 degrees inside Dorton (give or take 100 degrees). Thank you so much to all the fans who stuck it out in that heat!

That was the margin of victory when the CRG All-Stars beat the Tallahassee All-Stars 306-65 and continued an undefeated season with an 11-0 record. The Tai Chi-tahs pulled out the win over the Trauma Queens with a score of 100-65.

We raised $1641.00 for Pretty in Pink from the bake sale and silent auction on Saturday. We couldn’t have done it without donations from NCSU Athletics, The Country Vintner, Tyler’s Taproom, Durham Bulls, Wheels Fun Park, Crossfit Raleigh, Edwards Mill Bar and Grill, Jerry’s Grill, Remedy Clinic, and all the skaters who bought, baked, and crafted items. Our November charity bout will also benefit Pretty in Pink and we will do it even bigger and better!

Do you remember last year when Celia Fate, Eris Discordia, and Evil Ed rappelled down the Wachovia Building in downtown Raleigh to raise money for Special Olympics? Well CRG is accepting the fundraising challenge again this year with a twist. We are challenging the Charlotte Rollergirls to see which team can raise the most money for Special Olympics and send the most skaters over the edge of a very tall building on October 1st in Raleigh or October 29th in Charlotte. We are just beginning our fundraising efforts, but our team page is right here. You can donate to your favorite skater or to the Carolina Rollergirls “person”- each participant must raise $1000 to earn a rappelling spot. Many more details coming soon!
