Life for the Carolina Rollergirls has certainly been full and fun lately! On May 14th, the Bootleggers traveled to Lancaster, PA to get their first win of the year over the Dutchland Blitz with a score of 174-110. Photos from the bout can be seen here.
On May 21st we welcomed the Cape Fear, Dominion, Long Island, and Tampa Bay All- Star teams to compete in our first ever Derby Expo during the Got to be NC Festival. Your CRG All- Stars came away with wins over Long Island (333-56) and Tampa Bay (126-116). We want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to all the leagues who attended and all the volunteers who helped make the event such a success! Joshua Craig’s amazing photos can be seen here.
Last weekend we hung out at the pool and ate hamburgers, in case you were wondering.
Next up for your favorite All- Star team is a trip to DC to take on the DC All- Stars on Saturday, June 4th at 4:30 and a stop in Richmond to play a closed bout against River City on Sunday, June 5th. Can’t make the trip? We’ve got you covered- scores for the away bouts will be tweeted and Facebooked for your convenience.
And after that? More derby at Dorton! Go ahead and buy your tickets for the June 11th double header Tai Chi-tahs vs Trauma Queens and CRG All- Stars vs Tallahassee All- Stars. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Pretty in Pink Foundation that financially supports women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
