Food Bank Telethon

The Carolina Roller Girls recently participated in the third annual telethon for The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. At noon on Friday, September 26th the Food Bank telethon started with a food truck rodeo at their main location in Raleigh. A group of Carolina Rollergirls were there to help support the event and share information about roller derby. We were even interviewed on their live broadcast!

September is national Hunger Action Month, and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC hosted their telethon to raise awareness, as well as money for food and resources. They supply food to soup kitchens, charities, and various other programs to help the people of North Carolina stay fed. It was a good turnout and everyone was happy to be there and tummies were full from the friendly foodtrucks, such as Porchetta, Sol Tacos and Will & Pops.

If you are interested in donating time or money to the Food Bank, check out
