The Carolina Rollergirls have extended their partnership with the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s BackPack Buddies Program through 2009! This program targets kids who access free and reduced-price lunches at school, but need other nutritional support over the weekends. BackPack Buddies Partners help the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle collect backpacks and the kid-friendly non-perishable food, and pack and deliver the bags for the children.
How can you help? Donate one or more items to the BackPack Buddies program! Bring the item(s) to the April, May or June bouts and receive a $1 off coupon for CRG apparel at the merch booth!
Top ten most popular donated items in the program: Granola bars; Low sodium soups (in microwaveable containers); Canned tuna/chicken (3oz to 5oz sizes); 8.5oz canned fruit, in juice (POP-TOP); 8.5oz canned vegetables (POP-TOP); Boxed raisins; Instant oatmeal – single serve packets; Single serve whole grain cereals; Microwaveable tubs of spaghetti and meatballs; Kraft Easy Mac.
