Rollergirls are tough. We yell and curse on the track. We take bone-shattering hits and (assuming bones weren’t actually shattered) pop back up, hungry for more.
But even Superman has his kryptonite. Our kryptonite looks like this:
So last week when Daisy Rage posted on facebook that her mom had rescued these five kittens from the Onslow County Animal Shelter the day before they were set to be killed, CRG rolled in. The kittens made the two hour trip from Jacksonville, NC and were soon settling into new derby homes in Raleigh and Durham. And without further ado, meet our newest loves!

And now that you have been put under the cute kitten spell, here are the facts. According to the Humane Society of the United States, between 8-10 million dogs and cats are brought to shelters each year and between 4-5 million of them are euthanized. Please consider adopting a shelter animal- a list of NC shelters and rescues can be found here.

Fork and spoon!!! Brilliant.
This is so great of y’all! Those in the Triangle looking to adopt a cat would be wise to check out SAFE Haven for Cats on Durant Rd. in North Raleigh. It was the Triangle’s first no-kill cat shelter and, as a no-kill shelter, can only take additional cats in when one of the current cats is adopted. There’s always a waiting list to get in and plenty of cute kitties looking for good homes, so please, if you’re looking for a pet, check it out!

My babies are famous!!!!!
Beautiful kittys
How great! I love it! I volunteer with Johnston County Animal Protection League, and they (we) are in desperate need of cage cleaners for the 2 PetSmarts in Garner. We also really need foster families so we can get more cats out of the shelters.
Hope you don’t mind, but I am blatantly using this comment to ask for help. If anyone is interested in fostering and/or cleaning cages, please contact webmaster@jcapl.org
Best of luck with your kittens–they are five lovelies:) Also, feel free to delete this comment if you deem it inappropriate.
Beautiful Kittys, I love it!
