On November 15, Carolina Rollergirls finished up their 2015 season competing in an intraleague bout. The theme: Superheroes vs. Supervillains. As the competitive year came to an end, CRG wanted to show thanks to their fans and give back to a charity of their choice- Compass Center for Women and Families.
Two huge fans, Elin and Matt, chose each team one by one old school style. Throughout this action packed bout, spectators could pay money to alter the game. Fans sent players to the box, made some reluctant skaters jam, had whole teams doing push-ups, and even stole points! As all this was going on, fans could also participate in a silent auction. CRG skaters worked hard making, contributing, and soliciting donations to help raise money for charity. Some outside contributors included O2 Fitness, Jimmy’s Popcorn, and SilverSpot Cinema. Skaters contributed their art, singing lessons, crafts, and baskets! Proceeds went to Compass Center for Women and Families which helps families get their life on track after escaping spousal abuse.
After such a fun night, Carolina Rollergirls, with the help of their amazing fans, were able to donate $500.00 to help such a worthy cause. What a way to end the season!
