Hey there derby fans!
CRG has had an amazing start to the month with Out Raleigh, and we’re so excited to keep up the momentum with our upcoming May bout! If you’re a local fan, you’ll be happy to hear we’re having a double header home charity bout on Saturday, May 21st at the Raleigh Convention Center! This will be our 3rd time at the center and we’re feeling more and more excited about the new space.
At 5PM the Carolina Bootleggers will be taking on the Star City Rollergirls from Roanoke, VA, and at 7PM your own Carolina All Stars will be taking on the Carolina Hurticanes. We are so excited to be offering local beer, wine, and snacks, as well as face painting. Derby City Skates will also be making an appearance for all your skate and gear needs.
As in our bout in April, we will be collecting funds and supplies for Hope Animal Rescue in Durham, a local non-profit organization that finds happy homes for abandoned animals. A portion of our merchandise sales will be going to this great and worthwhile organization!
If you would like a ticket to the double header, feel free to purchase one here, or directly from a Carolina Rollergirl for $10. If you want to reach out to a rollergirl for the reduced rate, be sure to like our Facebook page, and make a post asking for tickets! We will also be selling tickets at the door for $15 general admission, $12 for students, seniors, and veterans, $5 for children ages 6-12, and free for children below age 5.
As always, if you’re interested in being a volunteer or NSO at the bout, please reach out to us here and we’d be thrilled to have you on board!
Don’t forget to come out and join us at the after party at Woody’s City Market right after the last bout to eat some good food, drink some yummy drinks, and talk derby with your favorite skaters! We love it when fans and community members show up at the after party so we can meet and get to know you all!
All the derby love,
Carolina Rollergirls
