This Saturday is the 2011 Carolina Rollergirls Season Opener! We’re so excited to see our fans again. Let us fill you in on some of the changes for the 2011 season!
Every single home game at Dorton Arena will be on a Saturday this year. Our games are also beginning at an earlier time. The doors will now open at 2:30, our first game starts at 3:00, and our second game starts at 5:00. Kids will get to bed on time, no need to try to find a sitter! Perfect for an after-lunch or before-dinner date- and many of our sponsors would love to feed you!
This year, we’re also selling VOUCHERS in addition to game-specific tickets. This means there’s no need to delay in buying tickets because you’re not sure you can make a game. If it turns out you can’t, a voucher is still good for any game this season. You can lock in that advance-ticket price without any more worries!
Do you love the Carolina Home Teams? Do you bleed Trauma Queen Blue? Does Debutante Pink make you want to rock your socks off? Do you wear long sleeves to hide your Tai Chi-Tah spots? You’re in luck: All the opening games for 2011 are home teams wailing on each other, followed by the All Stars having it out with folks from out of town.
But what about the Bootleggers, you ask? The Boots will be caravaning around the Southeast to tangle with other area teams. February 26th they take a little trip to South Carolina to play the Greenville Derby Dames. The best way to tell where everyone’s going to be and when they’re going to be there, check out our events page.
If you like beer, you’re going to LOVE 2011. The beer on tap at Dorton will be that of our glorious sponsor Lonerider Brewery! Local beer and local sports, it’s a love affair for the ages. We at CRG can’t thank them enough, and we’re super excited that our fans who are over 21 who care to imbibe will have a chance to try Lonerider’s great local brews!
The Carolina Rollergirls have new friends who you’ll get to meet at Dorton Arena! Local wrestlers from Gouge Wrestling will be passing out flyers for their event Saturday night, and there’s a new group of menfolk who want to play derby too! Collision Men’s Derby will have a table at the bout, so if you’re a dude who’s wanted to roll with us, fellas are doing it for themselves.
Derby fans, we’ve missed you! We can’t wait to see you this weekend to share the derby love. Carolina Roller Derby fans are the greatest fans in the world!
