CRG Takes the Plunge for Special Olympics

Have you ever seen your favorite rollergirl be athletic off skates? Have you ever supported CRG AND A GREAT CAUSE? Have you ever wanted to send someone into an icy lake after a run? Well then, ladies and gentlemen, have we got the event for you. The CRG ladies are unlacing their skates and putting their game faces away to take the Polar Plunge!

Mark your calendars for February 25! CRG takes it to the pavement to benefit the Special Olympics. We will start off with the NC State Torch Run 5k. Registration is just $20 before February 10th, and $25 up until the day of.  Registrations received by the 10th will be guaranteed a t-shirt.  You do not need to be a competitive runner to participate.  Competitive and Recreational Run start at 8:30; Kids Fun Run run starts at 9:30 (and is just $10).  More information can be found here. So strap on your sneakers and come run with CRG.

Then those of you who are brave and not quite sound of mind will want to check out the Polar Plunge into Lake Raleigh. There is a minimum donation of $50 per participant.  CRG has set us up a fundraising page through First Giving, which can be found here.  Our current team goal is set for $500, but I know you awesome ladies (and gents) have the power to raise more.  For every $50 CRG raises one person gets to plunge…if we end up with more people willing to plunge than funds raised we’ll hold a lottery to determine who gets to do it. So come on and send as many rollergirls as we can into the icy waters- LET’S RAISE SOME DOUGH!
